a escuridão nunca vem só.
Porque é que todas as pessoas, ou quase todas, tomam o saber jogar futebol como algo definido e certo numa característica de um ser humano? Porque é que não podem simplesmente aceitar quando se diz, ‘não sei chutar uma bola’? Porque motivo têm eles de insistir numa partida na brincadeira, quando depois resmungam as caneladas e as cacetadas que o outro dá e que não faz nada de jeito? Simplesmente não sei. Simples não, que de simples não há nada.
E a Maria Alice, que de profissão – Vítima é muito empenhada e realista, têm a mania que está sempre certa e que todos os outros estão errados. Não consegue simplesmente aceitar que pode estar errada, isso não! Nunca comete erros, ela. E quando lhe cai a consciência não admite. Adoro quando ela começa a sua peça teatral, profissão que desde sempre gostou; e que afirma estar me sempre a favorecer e a tentar fazer-me feliz, quando tenho um pedido pendente há quase dois meses – pedido esse que poderia ser satisfeito em cinco minutos – e quando me insulta diariamente num recorde de dois nomes por segundo.
Se ela soubesse os favores que eu, Senhor Coelho Monstro, lhe fiz para ela descobrir a toca e chegar ao País das Maravilhas, não me agradecia, pois não se rebaixaria a esse nível, provavelmente continuava igual; mas sempre teria a certeza de que ela sabia o que eu faço por ela. Tal como a minha cenoura preferida que lhe dei quando ela estava com desejos de uma, e que quando foi a vez de retribuir com a alface, engoliu-a de uma só vez.
Mas, tentado apoiar-me numa nova ética e pensamento optimista, enquanto estou na praia a ver todos os sorrisos me passam ao lado sem me atingir: ‘Lá por eu estar mal, não significa que os outros estejam bem.’
